ADOPT-IPM - HORIZON project - 2022-2026

EU-China joint action to increase development and adoption of IPM tools

  • Funding: européen project HORIZON-CL6-2021-FARM2FORK-01-19
  • Project: The ADOPT-IPM project  is a joint research and innovation action between the European Union and China, aimed at strengthening international cooperation for sustainable management of plant pests and diseases. Despite policy frameworks favorable to integrated pest management (IPM) in Europe and China, disease and pest control still relies heavily on the use of chemical pesticides. The adoption of IPM by farmers remains limited due to protection tools that are sometimes insufficiently effective, poorly integrated, or not adapted to field conditions. ADOPT-IPM aims to optimize existing tools, develop new ones, and combine them into integrated protection strategies. The project targets several crops (including tomatoes, leafy vegetables, maize and wheat) and pests/pathogens of major economic importance. It is based on laboratory and field trials, demonstrations, and transfer actions to end users.
