EINACT – Metaprogram HOLOFLUX – 2025-2026

Efficacy, Impact and extension of a New Approach to ecological engineering of microbial CommuniTies

  • Funding: Metaprogram HOLOFLUX
  • Project: Microbial inoculants are of particular interest in agriculture and bioremediation, as they offer a sustainable alternative to the use of chemical inputs and can help decontaminate environments repeatedly exposed to compounds that are recalcitrant to degradation (pesticides/antibiotics). An innovative protocol for building multi-degrading microbial communities has been developed. The EINACT project has a dual objective: i) to assess the efficacy and ecotoxicological impact of inoculating multi-degrading microbial communities in polluted soils and sediments, in comparison with the more conventional inoculation of isolated strains, and ii) to evaluate the applicability of the protocol for constructing compositional variants of microbial communities in order to identify microbial consortia promoting the health of plants of agronomic interest (tomato model).
